Professor Krumdieck is organizing a special issue that is aiming to lay the foundations for the emerging field of Transition Engineering,[1] focusing on path-breaking work in energy transition.

As Guest Editor, I cordially invite you to submit a manuscript for consideration and possible publication in a special issue on “Energy Transition Engineering 2021" to be published in Energies (http://www.mdpi.com/journal/energies), an open access journal. Energies is published by MDPI online monthly. Since its launch in 2008, the journal has been indexed by Science Citation Index Expanded, COMPENDEX and other large databases. The latest Impact Factor for 2020 is 3.004.

The Special Issue on “Energy Transition Engineering 2021” aims to be disruptive and challenging to the future directions of energy research. We are not looking for work on well-covered topics. We are looking for new ideas and results on subjects relevant to rapid downshift of fossil fuel production and consumption. Research involving addressing wicked problems of fossil energy use could include technology changes in complex systems, but also new kinds of markets, IT, communications, property development, social business, policy, and behaviour.  Energy transition projects are necessarily “upstream” in nature. Innovations in research and even research proposals and research methodologies that are “ground up” are also sought for sharing to help define the energy transition field.

The deadline for manuscript submission is 25 October 2021. For more details please visit the website:
